Ali and Frazier are the same race (perceived). It is widely acknowledged that it is more acceptable to use racial epithets within a racial group than without. The same goes for any ****phobic, or socioeconomic insult.

What was more unacceptable than if Calzaghe had said the same thing to Froch.

          Do you understand?

Fair point. But that really isn't fair. Ali calling Joe a gorilla is the same steretyping floyd did when referencing cats and dogs. Within the same race mitigates the contect to a degree.

apparently floyd didnt agree in January since there was no fight.

Now those are the only terms that matter, what happened 8 months ago. Floyd can no longer be blamed, EVER. everything else is hyperbole
SHogunn if you call floyd scared I point out that he agreed to fight Manny in January to refute it. If that isn't fair so be it. I point out the needle anecdote to give people an idea of what scared is.

no i understand but ali said alot of crazy **** out his mouth all the time even when fights weren't sighned he would be runnin his mouth, it didn't make a difference who it was.floyd like ali were directly talkin to their opponents where as bernard actually seem to disrespect a whole race by generalizin and sayin i will never lose to a white boy

If you think ESPN hates boxing, you should see how they treat MMA. It's far worse. At least the commentators there actually know who Pacquiao and Mayweather are. When Tony Reali asked if anyone on Around the Horn watched the Silva vs. Sonnen match, all four of them didn't even know Silva or Sonnen.

The only time I've seen ESPN positively mention boxing is on Mike and Mike in the Morning when Mike Greenburg mentioned that he couldn't wait for Pac/Hatton and Pac/Cotto on the day before each fight because he knew they were going to be barnburners.

the needle anecdote is false to begin with. Teh quote of manny is scared of needs, says arum, came from GBP. This was pointed out in the mediator meeting in january.

the idea that mayweather is scared comes from the fact he keeps renegging. first it was 14 days, now its 0. then went on vacation when manny agrees to everything, but comes off a vacation and makes a little video when manny secures a fight.

but this is wehre you respond with needs again, tatoos, blood tests, etc.
