Isn't it a tad too soon to be putting Mares up against Vic?

Vic is not an elite bantamweight. To be fair to Vic bantamweight is the best, toughest, deepest, most talented division in boxing. So not being an elite bantamweight is no shame.

Mares fought competitive against Perez. If you can hang in there with Yohnny Perez you're more than ready for Vic at 118.

Is going to be a good fight. Good card overall, nice tournament. I think the Perez-Agbeko fight will be just as good as the first one.

Hopefully the Moreno-Hasegawa fight goes through.

And, hopefully Donaire steps up and hopefully Arum does right and make the Montiel-Donaire fight.

Bantamweight is on fire right now.
