That would be a good fighter. Better than the JCC jr match up IMO. However, I wish Shaw was this confident against Martinez.

I dunno' about would, but I'll grant ya' could. As a Cotto fan, this is what I'm afraid of and wouldn't be shocked (nor overly upset as I kinda' like El Perro as well) @ an Angulo win by late stoppage of some kind.

On the other hand Cotto is a very skilled boxer and probably has enough pop even at 154lbs to keep Angulo honest. If Cotto can keep it a boxing match he oughta' be able to take a nice UD. This is the result I think most likely.

Or...if the skill matchup turns out to be a blowout (which is also possible), Cotto ain't the type to skate to a UD without at least trying to get his man outta there. If Alfredo finds himself in trouble, Cotto is a pretty good finisher, so a Cotto stoppage win wouldn't shock me either.

Guess the only thing that would surprise me, is if it was a boring fight.

If not for the money why not for th chance of beating one of th top p4p fighters and one that had trhee belts at the timr(one at54 and 2 at 60). He believes he's one of the best and had a chance to take on the best at both divisions and walked away because he felt like a diva that particular day.

Everybody from 147 to 154 will want a shot at Cotto now Angulo can get in line. I say fight Bundrage for the ibf title and to stay busy and wait for Margarito. Regardless if Margs win or loses against Pac a Cotto rematch would be huge.

Not only that but perro was asking for a gate percentage and rightly so. The bout would be held in Cali and Martinez was to receive a gate percentage of what would've been a predominantly Mexican crowd of which Perro would play a major role in producing. They refused Perro with no counter offer.

Even though it wouldn't be a good match for Perro I have no doubt this guy would fight, as he says, whoever they put in front of him

I like the matchup and I put my money on Cotto. To much skills and Alfredo prior to his KO of the love child was getting hit a bit too much. If cintron was able to outbox angulo, I see no reason why Cotto (with better skills) can't do the same.

Angulo is betting on his pressure which will make him a easy target.
Cotto is the 3rd biggest name/star in boxing
Angulo will easily get over a million fighting Cotto

But to turn down a fight at a higher weight with guarantees that you will get another shot at HBO at 154... it's not a smart move (something that both his manager and promoters have attested). In this economy, I bet you a whole bunch of other contenders would have jumped at the opportunity.

With regards to Cotto... we agree to disagree. Cotto has a good chin it took Margo/Pacman 12 rounds to take down the puertorican. And at this stage of his career I doubt that cotto would engage Angulo... he would put punches together and keep his off balance (strenght aside... there is not one thing that Angolo does better than cotto). Again.. if Cintron did it... why is it so strange to believe that Cotto can.
Same thing can be said about Angulo, if Tony was able to pressure Cotto, why can't a bigger/stronger Angulo do the same?
