Amir Khan to fight Marcos Maidana

Light welterweight champion Amir Khan of Britain (23-1) has signed on to fight Marcos Maidana of Argentina (29-1) for the WBA world light welterweight title on December 11, 2010. Khan, 23, stands at 5'10" with a 70" reach, while Maidana stands at 5'9" and is 27 years old.
Amir Khan is coming off an 11th round TKO over Paulie Malignaggi (27-4) in May, while Maidana won a unanimous decision over DeMarcus Corley (37-14-1) last month. Khan vs Maidana is a highly anticipated bout and the winner has a strong likelihood of facing legendary Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez (51-5-1). Marquez is currently the lineal champion at 135 lbs, while Khan and Maidana fight at the 140 lb. weight division.
On Saturday, Amir Khan attended The National Lottery Awards in Britain, and presented an award to an organization championing the Isle of Wight Railway Restoration Project.yadda yadda
