Did Tyson Fight To Bring Equality To Black People?

If anyone watched the ESPN doc on Tyson and Tupac last night I thought this was hilarious. They tried to make Tyson out to be MLK, kept referring to his hands as slave hands and with the power of 400 years of captivity and chains etc...they even went so far as to attack the woman who he ****d...was found guilty of raping and imply that she was a gold digger. They never mentioned the fact that he beat women. They then tried to say Tupac was some leader of the womens rights movement even though he was convicted of sexual assault for sodomizing a girl against her will. I mean if anyone watched this, it was hilarious, especially Tyson. They tried to make him like some black freedom fighter. I also found it hilarious how the non-boxing fans who talked about him talked about how he was like Foreman, Ali, Johnson and Louis, but the guy I hear Tyson talk about most is Dempsey...It was such a race baiting piece. Terrible documentary. Tyson didnt fight for anything other than himself, his wallet, and to hurt people. Thats about it. For black people? Heck the black people in his life were the ones who took advantage of him and robbed him blind. Tyson even saw that.

No mention of Cus, no mention of the trainers or management, but they managed to make Sug Night out to be a good guy...worst thing I ever watched.

They made tyson look bad. He was never some militant black power guy. His idols were cus, jack dempsey and rocky marciano. All white. To be honest if you look at most of tysons career he never really talked about slavery or black people. He just said people treated him like a scumbag street thug. Most of tysons rage was focused on other black people that did him wrong.

Muhammad Ali on the other hand...........

I was hoping that wasnt what they would make it into. Sounds awful.

Tyson beat people up because no one loved him and some punks killed his pigeons. Simple as that.

I hope it doesnt come on again.

It sounds like over the top myth making.
You are correct that Tyson never spoke about feeling that racism held him back, until he meet Mr Don King. Who filled his head with all kinds of stuff, so he could get Tyson to leave Jacobs and sign with him

                You guys are oversensitive man.

They were just saying how Mike was a ****** kid who made it big as was Pac. There was no comparison to MLK or others like that at all.

Please watch it again if you don't understand.

True about Don King and remember this is post prison Tyson too.

The Mickey Rourke stories don't exactly paint him as an MLK do they?

The opening with them "artists" was lame though.

The documentary never made out Des'reee was a golddigger at all.

It interviewed a black journalist who got told she was taking part in a lynching cos she criticised him.

She said some of his fans saw her as a gold digger, that was it!
