I dont think Chavez adds anything to Pac's resume or Cotto's ,the only thing he has on Cotto is the height and reach and we all saw were that took Foreman which IMO is much better than Chavez

He's gotten gifts too. I remember a recent fight against some kid from Ohio (if I recall) and he blasted Jr's face with jabs all night long , at least 3:1 ratio of effective punching and they still gave it to Jr....

You guys are trippin. Bob Arum has done a wonderful job with Cotto. Cotto always wanted to fight the best and that's exactly what he got. He's a champ in three divisions now, man, what more can you ask for?

As for Chavez, if this fight really goes down, I think Bob looks at it two ways - if Chavez wins, hey great, a young guy who just beat a hall of famer, big things to come. If Cotto wins, hey great, Cotto is still a big name and can land a rematch with Margarito or Pacquiao, or possibly even fight Floyd Mayweather depending on what happens.

In any scenario Bob Arum wins with either Cotto or Chavez.

I don't see chavez winning. at all actually. but it's just really hard for me to concieve that he'll lose his 0 ya know? the dude is supposed to be top ranks new golden boy. why are they putting him i there with cotto though? most enthusiast clearly see cotto beating the kid to a pulp.

I am not sure if it is a guarantee win. I thought Foreman was a guarantee win. I thought that what Arum wanted. But, Cotto with Steward in his corner looked pretty damn good.

JCC Jr has to step up some time to the elite level. I think the way Jr looked against Duudy made Arum think the time is now. Beating Cotto would make him legit and the real deal and really maybe a banafide cash cow.

Cotto winning means you still have a bonafide star with 2 wins over 2 undefeated guys. A title holder and possibly a rematch with Pac or Marg in a money fight.

Either way is a win/win for Arum.

Cotto is going to hurt this kid. Not the same level of fighter.

The promotion for Top Rank would be MUCH better for Manny than fighting a rematch with Cotto at this point.

Think about it. Julio is the son of a legend who's defeated Floyd's trainer uncle Roger.

Julio is "undefeated" to the clueless general public with a record to mirror Floyds.

                    Julio is bigger than Manny.

Those three points will be used as leverage against Floyd if MAnny fights him and wins. And let's get real JCC jr will not beat Manny.

Julio is looking for "Mexican revenge" for Margs loss to Manny. (Mexican etc. fanbase, bigger numbers after Manny beats Margs for the vacant title.)

Julio is in house for BIG money for Arum and the highest payday for the biggest fight of his career.

I truly believe Arum makes that fight for Manny after Margs.

come on. i dont even think chavez will last the distance let alone win rounds.

and margarito is a big puncher that WONT sit off pacquiao like clottey did.
and wont end up running scared like cotto did. not a free win like your saying
                      True homie

Some people on here are RIDICULOUS.

You might not like the way arum handles his biz, and I don't know anybody who does, but to say sht is fixed or "guaranteed" is plain ******. If you believe this you prob also believe in global warming, 9/11 conspiracies and in the tooth fairy.

Is there shady sht going on in boxing? All the time! Tell me one sport in which it doesn't happen. But *** maintain some credibility instead of just adding more bullsht to this forum
