Comments Thread For: Karmazin vs Geale Tentatively Set: October 31 in Sydney

It looks like IBF middleweight final elimination between #1 of the ranks Roman “Made in hell” Karmazin (40-3-2, 26 KOs) of St. Petersburg, Russian, and #7 of the same chart Daniel Geale (23-1, 14 KOs) from Mt. Annan, Australia, is going to take place on Oct. 31 in Geale’s Homeland. Sydney is a preliminary host of the bout to determine Sebastian Sylvester’s mandatory challenger. Nothing has been officially set yet but both teams are very close to strike a deal.

Karmazin is getting older, and the fight is in Australia. I'm thinking Geale will win a decision.

That seems the most likely outcome. Geale doesn't have heavy hands, but he makes up for it by being very busy inside the ring. He lost a very close decision to Mundine a little while back, and that experience should hold him in good stead.

Sylvester is the weakest of the Middleweight champions, so assuming Geale gets past Karmazin, I'd give him the nod over the champ as well. It'd be a big ask to do that in Germany however.

The card is shaping up nicely with a few other Aussie fighters as well.

Why the hell does Roman have to fight an eliminator when he, in my opinion and alot of others, beat Sylvester?

This is bullshit. Karmazin is the real IBF middleweight champ. He clearly outworked Sylvester and got robbed. He deserves an immediate rematch with Sylvester.

Classic move by the IBF and Sylvester's German promoters.
Karmazin goes to Germany, beats Sylvester but it's called a draw. Instead of an immediate rematch, they make Karmazin go to the backyard of the #7 ranked fighter to "earn" a rematch.
Geale will likely win a decision in Australia. So then Sylvester gets to avoid Karmazin and fight a light-punching Geale at home in Germany. Where, of course, Sylvester will win a close decision or draw and retain his "title."
            All so predictable

I agree, he should be IBF MW champion right now.
