Problem I see is, the casual fan does not know who the hell Maidana is. ****, they dont even know who Khan is. Where is this money coming from? Gate?...Sponsers? None of these guys are big names in the states yet. I doubt this fight will be a ppv. These guys have 1 or 2 decent wins, and automatically think they're eligible for million dollar paydays.

Is this fight happening in the states or in the UK? Is the gate going to be a guarantee sell out?

What i'm trying to get at is, prove u can bring in the bucks, put asses in seats, and sell a fight before u start getting ****y and asking for millions. Neither of these guys are a big name in the sport just yet. ESPECIALLY Maidana. He might be known amongst diehards, but ask any casual fan who Maidana is. Guarantee they wont know.

Why should any of us really care about this stuff? That's for the promoters, managers, and television stations to figure out.

Nothing is guaranteed. Obviously all those involved thought it was a risk worth taking. That's all we need to know. Now let's enjoy the fight.

He's ****** not to ask for it. Now if he turns it down and doesn't fight that's one thing, but if he gets a few $K more where is the problem?
ok but hes asking for a million. you just answered your own question.hes only been making 250 k - 300 k so whats he bringing to the table that makes him deserve a million dollars? an interim belt lmao?

Supply and demand determines his price.

Whether he "deserves" it or not isn't for us to decide.

you just ducked my question. if anything he should be glad he finnaly got a shot. cuz khan could be like take it or leave it cuz in the end maidana will be left with his interim belt and khan the full champ. maidana needs khan. he shouldnt push it to much because hes finnaly got his shot!

Thing is, this fight could have easily been scrapped due to money issues, and us fans would have lost out yet again! That's why we should care.
