How many of you gamble real money on boxing???

and if you do what was the best bet you ever made?

i am curious as to what the line will be in the Klitshcko vs. Peter fight. it seems with all the hype that Peter is generating and the concerns over Wlad that the odds for this fight may be a lot closer to even money than anyone would expect. What do you guys think it may end up being???

if the odds are favorable i am going to put some $$ on wlad. i wanted to bet on both Williams and Mcbride to beat TYson and i was too sorry to pull the trigger. man what a killing it would have been...........

sorry if this belongs in the lounge. im a new guy, i pretty much stay here.

I bet, not as much as i should do though.

Probably the biggest win i had was on the Williams vs Tyson fight, it wasnt cash this time, i bet my girl that if Williams wins she has to give me blow jobs every night for a months.

I'm only a contrarian better and it serves me well when the time is right. The basic public will be all over Klit's jock. If I decide to place a bet it will most likely be on Peter but I'll have to be looking into the fight more in depthly.

Best boxing bet I've made was actually Winky vs Tito. Not by terms of a difficult selection since I think most informed boxing experts chose winky by a landslide as well. I made a good hunk of change by playing into the public's view of how godly they thought Tito was.

I love to wager money on boxing but only when I feel the oddsmakers have made a booboo, I have put money on fighters that Im not rooting for but the odds are too good too pass up...

2.5-1 for Mosley against Oscar...I was rooting for Oscar but almost 3-1 was too good to be true, no one new who Shane was.

8-1 McCall vs. Lewis-I was still a youngster and I was in vegas with my parents for 1 last family vacation as they called it... and Lewis was fighting Oliver, I told my dad that he had to put $20 on the fight for me and he put 40 on it...my fisrt big score...got me addicted-I think to this day my dad is mad that I won.

          Biggest Score!!!

20-1 Rahman vs. Lewis and my 2nd bet ever with a bookie, me and and a bunch of guys (there were two chicks too) put $500 dollars together... we were all in college and that was the greatest night I have ever had watching boxing-I told my freinds that Rock would get ko'd but if we could get 20-1 he would win three times, that was enough for them and we placed the bet nearly 3 months in advance. The feeling that I had after that fight is better than any drug in the world-if I could bottle it Id be in prison. The bookie had to pay the debt over a 2 month span-he wasnt exactly big time...he put limits on how far he was willing to go after that night.

I also lost alot of money betting against LL, I hated him so much and new his opponenets always had a shot because of the chin he had, I lost on fights like Zelko Mavrovick(I know what your thinking you bet on Mavrivik, yup and he hurt LL in the 7th too) and Michael Grant just too name a few.

I believe it was the week before the LL/rock fight or maybe a couple weeks before it but the same bookie (my first bet with him-pretty nervous) gave me 4.5-1 on Barerra, this and I put $150 on it...I had a hell of a month that I will never equal...I lost with William Joppy a few weeks later against Tito at 5-1 however.

As of late I lost $200 on JL CAstillo which really hurt because I thought the fight was over....**** Im still pissed. Me and my brother have been doing some parlays for fun too.

Now that Im married My wife watches me closer and she has to approve the bet and the dollar amount before I can go for it....dont get married!

I've bet on boxing all the time. My record is fairly solid so I can't tell you all the big bets I've won. Recent ones that come to mind are Winky over Tito and Taylor over Hopkins. Taylor over Hopkins was a big money winner. Bet365 had a Taylor to win rounds 1-3 on ledermans cards, that was a walk in the park bet for me.

man-o-man, i can imagine how bad anyone who had money on JLC felt. to me personally that fight was a travesty. to intentionally spit out your mouthpiece twice is a breach of unwritten rules that no serious fighter has the balls to breach. that being said, i love the guy anyway, a true warrior for better or worse. let the better man win the 2nd time around, and for humanity's sake let it rest at that.

but to the original point. as you said "when the oddsmakers make a booboo" that is what makes betting on boxing so attractive to me. though i cant say i ahve a vast knowledge of all boxing classes, i am confident in what i know, and what i have seen.

and that is why i pose this question.

for all the bitching and moaning that goes on about Vit and Wlad on this forum, i have watched all of their fights, i have seen them in action, and i will not bow down to the opinion of someone who has seen less than i.

there is no doubt in my mind that WLad beats Peter (that being said, i will be man enough to admit my error if Peter knocks Wlad out) mark my words, i am not a Klitscko jock sniffer. i love the sport and i respect the heart of a champion, more than the skill.

i just think that this fight may end up being a good example of " a booksmakers booboo"

any of you who are intersted i will put all of my points on WLad in this fight. The first person to personally message me and choose Peter over Wlad, you have a deal, please double me up, im a new guy with real love for this sport.
