Darchinyan is not an elite level bantamweight. But, to be fair to Darchinyan it could be due to how talented and deep the bantamweight division is.

If Mares could be competitive against Yohnny Perez and then he is more than ready for Darchinyan.

To think dudes were panicking about good fights this year. Boxing is closing out strong.

Now only if we could get the Martinez vs Williams **** rolling.

                  my opinions....

if mares took perez' best shots and stood his ground he can take vic's no prob... the differrence will be can vic handle speed and tenacity.... i thought mares did enough to beat perez but he didnt ge the decision... i got mares over vic by UD.

perez vs agbeko will be fireworks from the beginning, perez won the first one...those who know past boxing events agbeko destroyed vic. im going with the upset on this one... agbeko outworks perez! agbeko by SD.

Mares might be the bigger man, but he got hit too often in the Yohnny Perez fight, he can not afford to get hit like that against Darchinyan. He is a star on the making they should bring him up slowly.
