Rigondeaux vs Cordoba for the Interim WBA title?

Just got this from another website and its also listed on boxrec for the interim championship, whatever that means since theres already 2 champs in that division

"Sources close to both camps have said that a deal between former 2000/2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (6-0, 5 KOs) of Cuba and former interim WBA world super bantamweight champion Ricardo Cordoba (37-2-2, 23 KOs) of Panama is near final for both to meet for the interim WBA world super bantamweight title."

the interim WBA champion thing is so dumb...but Cordoba is actually a decent opponent for Rigondeux.

smart move, he needs to get a move on at his age.

      Great fight.

      Gotta slightly favor Cordoba.

His championship experience is gonna be crucial.

I like this fight, some people might think this is too big of a jump up for Rigondeaux, who up until now has been facing C level fighters, he appears to be ready to make that jump. At 29, and soon to be turning 30 later on this month on September 30th, Rigondeaux needs to make this move because he’s not getting any younger!

Rigo has had plenty of experience at the amateur levels and has looked too good to the mediocre opposition that’s been fed to him since turning pro. Cordoba, has wins over quality fighters like Celestino Caballero, Luis Alberto Perez, and Eddy Julio.
            Should be a good matchup!
