His skills are fairly high, you cant get to P4P #1 on physicality alone...but most of success comes more from his unrivaled conditioning and physical attributes imo.
He might be the hardest, most intense training fighter since Marvin Hagler.
his defense is more or less basic, and although hes developed his right hook and body shots, hes mostly a jab jab left hand sort of fighter still.
not that thats bad...hes more or less perfected the basics through constant training, and that is actually one of the most important things in boxing, rather than that flashy ****.
Still, I would maintain that while his skill level alone would probably make him a brief world champion, its most definitely his extreme conditioning, speed and strength that has brought him to be the P4P phenom he is today.
Not much can beat hard work.
I'm tired of hearing stuff like this...people are going to come in here and claim Pacquiao is not skilled yet he's the fighter of the decade, p4p number one, and has an amazing resume....so all you boxing snobs take your definition of "pure skills" and shove them up your ass
and I'm not even a Pacquiao fan by no means, I'm a Floyd guy but a boxing fan first before anything
He is no1 so go figure. He is trained by Roach so he is going to be awesomely skilled. He works hard. If there is a more skilled boxer in the sport of boxing that is possible.
But if you dont think Pac is right up there somewhere you are kidding yourself.

You can get by on talent, will, and conditioning.
A lot of times the more skilled fighters lose to these type of things.
Cotto/margarito
