Yeah right.....all of his fights look like that. Sloppy punching coming from all angles. This dude needs to accept defeat.

Wouldn't in a million yrs take anything away from Burns but there still could have been man .Coming all the way across the world and eating Scottish food .That happens alot when not used to the food in another countries and stuff .I've been to Spain Turkey and American and I don't think we could drink the water in any of these countries .Ricky Burns fought a brilliant fight tho man and Martinez just struggled with his style.

Or, maybe its cause he did not set anything up on the way in (with the jab), tried to walk in Burns's front door, but got out-punched in the exchanges and countered on the way in, particularly with uppercuts as he leaned over inside?

Martinez whole Arsenal is walking his man down and throwing left hook right hands, thats all he do.

I think Burns deserves all the credit in the world. He did exactly what he said he was going to do before the fight. He said he wasn't going to commit the same mistakes Nicky Cook made, and he kept his promise.

BUT, I did find strange that Martinez weighed in so low to the fight. Martinez is, obviously, not a talented boxer. He is a pure brawler at best. But he does pack a punch and he is able to break down good boxers. I think this may have been a combination of seeing that he couldn't really hurt Burns the way he's used to (maybe because he wasn't as strong as always) and desperation setting in.

Yep man showed the heart of a lion man .Was a performance of a lifetime .Burns says the better class of opponent the better he performs .That's why he should fight top 10 superfeatherweights .To move himself up another level man .Don't want to see him fighting domestic level opponents man when he's defintley a class above .Don't want to see him ruined man and getting tuned up

Him getting hurt did not lose him the fight though, nor did a lack of workrate, he was going at it like lunatic in some rounds, working away as hard he could.
