Former IBF minimumweight champion Raul Garcia (28-1, 17KOs) returned to action at the Gimnasio Auditorio del Centro in Baja California, Mexico. He punished Samuel Garcia until the referee stopped the fight in the seventh round. Garcia has moved up to the junior flyweight division in search of a second world title. He returned in his first bout since losing a twelve round decision to unbeaten South African boxer Nkosinathi Joyi in March. Garcia wants to fight once more before the year is over and then go for a world title in 2011.
