And to be fair, when the Mayweather-Margarito fight was proposed, Floyd had not fought Oscar yet and wasn't the star he is now. $8 mil upfront is still a crazy amount of money for a fight. If May-Margs were made now, Floyd would probably get around $20 mill upfront.

Floyd went on to take the Baldomir fight instead of this fight for a self proclaimed $12 million. But that is beside the point, this fight took place in late 2006 at the same time Manny Pacquiao was fighting Eric Morales who without a doubt is a bigger star than Margarito and definately Baldomir.

However how much do you think Manny got for that fight? No where near $8 million thats for sure.
