    Are PPVS ruining boxing?

Each day I've been noticing that all these ppvs are ruining boxing....the ppvs have been getting out of hand...

I hope this can really be fixed...

Rijker-Martin was supposed to be PPV, but what general fan would pay the money to watch that bull**** card? It should be a good fight, but nothin to pay for

    Ann Wolfe-Man....Come on WTF!!!!!!!!

    Rahman-Barrett-BULL****

Campas-Vanda-Who the **** is Vanda and why exactly is Campas on a ppv honestly, biggest ****in bum right now

Chavez-Robinson-It would've been a good card if both were in their primes...

Barrera-Fana-Barrera is my favorite fighter but this fight aint ppv material

    Espn ppv-very overrated

Now this bull**** heavyweight card coming up...these ppvs have been getting WAYYYYYYY out of hand, and like IWATCHBOXING said, you can get a fighters career on dvd cheaper than a ppv..

I think ppvs are destroying boxing...............

I really hope this can be fixed, it hurts to think about it too..

Some good recent ppvs were Barrera-Morales III, Morales-Pacquiao,
Trinidad-Mayorga, and Corrales-Castillo II looks like it will be one of the best ppvs

A good PPV card will give you a lot of things that regular TV can't, like no commercials and tons of undercards. When a card is genuinely good I feel I get my money's worth, and I'm not that picky...the Gatti-Mayweather card, with a prospect, an upset, and a dominating performance in the title fight, was enough to make me happy.

I agree with you that the bad ones are multiplying, but likely the customer will put an end to this trend quick. Let Showtime and HBO do this for a while, they should lose enough money in the end to wise up.

At $50 per PPV, you need 20,000 buys to have $1,000,000 for the purse of the fights. Add a gate of 10,000 people at $100 per ticket and you then have another million.

As much as I think PPV sucks, the numbers make sense, and at the end of the day, it only takes one name to get a PPV card into the 100,000's, not two.

That is why we have MAB and a bunch of scrubs on a PPV card.

that having only MAB was the reason that the ppv was one of the biggest flops and snoozefests of the year and many people were feeling cheated.

so no, it takes more than one name to make a card.

They should leave the boxing on the channels we already pay for. HBO and Showtime and ESPN.

The Martin vs Rijker fight sold like 500 tickets, I would have loved to see the ppv numbers on that one lol.

All the little ppv's are being put on because HBO or Showtime either don't have open dates or they don't want them on thier network. HBO and Showtime just gives them an outlet to put on the ppv but if you notice the main commentators don't work those small ppv cards and usually the promoters take most of the losses.
