Better late than never. Four days after coming back from a trip to Donetsk, this reporter has finally caught his breath (and got a chance) to compile an extended report of one of the hugest promotions in the former USSR in recent years. The show, arranged by local company Union Boxing Promotion on Monday night, was dedicated to the 55th anniversary of its president Yuri Ruban, one of the most prominent promoters in Eastern Europe. Ruban, his chief trustee Dmytro Yeliseev and his business companion Gennady Uzbek unified their efforts to produce a ten-bout fight card which has entertained the local crowd and brought Donetsk into the spotlight of international and Ukrainian media.
