Yup and also the same reason Bradley finally decided to fight Alexander. Alexander got tha' ass whooped by Kotelnik and Maidana couldn't finish off an old Corley.

Remember the deal Maidana signed that aloud Khan to not fight him, wasnt that something like have 3 fights or 12 months wichever is first then fight Khan. Hasnt he had those 3 fights now so the Khan fight was next anyway regardless of how Maidana looked in his last fight.

maidana won the right to face the belt holder after he beat ortiz, khan fought kotelnick for the belt after that fight... its been aound a year, i think maidana was paid to step aside for about a year.
