And none of ya can tell me a fight being postponed has NO effect on a fighter. Its like you can't be real now in days, sometimes **** in your personal life effects your work life. Tito wanted the rematch, Also Tito got 1 more fight with King.
http://www.elnuevodia.com/ennegociac...ns-560108.html
Felix 'Tito' Trinidad and promoter Don King met today in private and when they came out together to talk about a rematch against Bernard Hopkins in November.
This happened today in a hotel in Isla Verde, where the King received the Trinidad with their lawyer Nicolas Medina and Pepe Ramos.
Leaving the hotel lobby after a two-hour meeting, King made his typical gesture of merchant waving national flags and shouting Viva Puerto Rico!
"We are going to do the rematch with Bernard Hopkins, This rematch needs to be done," said King.
His voice echoed through the hall exclusive, drawing attention to the safety and several guests who approached the former world champion.
But King did not want to 'steal' over the show and asked the boxer Trinidad it was he who made the announcement or, rather, to confirm this.
"We can fight at any time. I am calm as I am, but I beat Hopkins to be better. I'm going to beat Hopkins by any means, "said People's Champion.
The fight would be at 168 pounds, prefers the Puerto Rican boxer, who looked at a normal weight to have been out of the ring for the past 15 months.
November seems to be the month that would make the rematch. They did not speak of venue.
According to King, the side of Hopkins was the one who initiated the talks. King said he spoke by telephone again Hopkin's camp, this time in the presence of the Trinity.Comment

Felix "Tito" Trinidad is conflicted on making a decision as to whether he should return to the ring in a rematch with Bernard Hopkins or fully retire from the sport. Promoter Don King met with Trinidad last week in Puerto Rico to discuss a possible rematch with Hopkins at the end of the year. Trinidad has not fought since last January's decision loss to Roy Jones Jr. Prior to the fight with Jones, Trinidad was out of the ring for almost three years. Hopkins is open to a rematch but denies reports that he is pursuing the fight.
"I know that I have people who are in favor of the fight and others who are not. That will be very important in deciding if I should continue in the boxing. There are mixed opinions. Those who are younger want me to return to the ring, but those who are older have affection. They saw me go through a lot of fights, and they have asked me not to continue. I understand that the opinions [on the matter] are around 50-50. To make a decision on whether I do more in the boxing - will be my decision. I have to think about my wife (Sharon) and my daughters, and my entire family. What they think will weight heavy on my decision, but the final decision will be mine," Trinidad told Primera Hora.
Trinidad would like to get revenge for the 2001 knockout loss to Hopkins. At the same time he is not trying to rush himself into the rematch.
"There is no desperation. I am relaxed. It is something that I have to take very serious, as I've done throughout my career, since Hopkins is a tremendous champion and was the boxer that took away my undefeated record. The fight interests me, but it all depends on him," Trinidad said. "I do not depend on a fight with Hopkins to be happy. He beat me and never gave me a rematch. Hopkins knows that in a second fight he wouldn't win."Comment

You lost because you are a one dimensional slugger who used ridiculous amount of gauze to make a cast out of your hand-wraps before Naz caught you.Comment

According to a recent report in Primera Hora, promoter Don King flew down to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a meeting with Felix "Tito"Trinidad and his father/trainer Papa Trinidad aka Felix Sr. As one can imagine, the main topic was Trinidad's next fight.
King said that Trinidad is still eager to continue fighting and he would like to have him fight in New York during the Puerto Rican Day parade weekend in June. The could become a problem as middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has penciled in a title defense against John Duddy for the same weekend, and at New York's Madison Square Garden, which likely where King will try to stage the fight. Of course Atlantic City would be another good option if King is set on staging the fight on the East Coast.
Trinidad returned to the ring after a near three-year layoff against Roy Jones Jr. on January 19. While he lost by unanimous decision, he performed well at a catch-weight of 170-pounds against a much bigger, stronger and quicker opponent. Despite the loss, Trinidad was far from shot and put forth a spirited effort.
"Tito did very well against Roy Jones in spite of not fighting for two and a half years. He is a warrior. I'm hopeful that Tito is going to fight and soon. His rest will not be as long (as before). It would be ideal to do something on the weekend of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York," King said.
Trinidad would not confirm the details of the private meeting with King. He would only say "I didn't announce my retirement. It was a tough training camp and I want to get some rest, but I will always consider doing something."
King would love to set up a rematch with Hopkins to provide Tito with a chance to avenge his 2001 knockout loss. King said the rematch is not hanging on whether or not Hopkins pulls out a win over Calzaghe on April 19. He said Trinidad needs the chance to get revenge for his country, bringing up Hopkins' pre-fight antics of throwing the Puerto Rican flag to the floor. After he beat Trinidad, Hopkins flew to Puerto Rico to apologize for that pre-fight stunt.
"That would be a great opportunity for Tito to get revenge. In that fight, that wasn't the Tito we all know. Besides, Hopkins insulted Puerto Ricans and deserves for Tito kick his ass," King said. "It doesn't matter if he loses or wins against Calzaghe."Comment

What are the reason why Pacquiao lost to Morales, Singsurat, Torrecampo??
or the draws to Marquez and Sanchez?
How about the excuses that people make for Paul Williams?
Excuses made for Margarito's loss to Mosley and Santos?Comment

What a cheater, he cheated with his special hand-wraps in the ring. Joppy and Vargas said it felt like he was hitting them with bricks, and then we find out he was using ridiculous amounts of gauze to make a cast-like substance out of his hand-wraps to have an unfair advantage.Last edited by starkiller; 09-05-2010, 02:44 PM.Comment
