Holyfield is the next logical opponent for Haye after Harrison

The latest news from in and out of the ring, plus results and upcoming fights in the UK and Worldwide. Boxing news and opinions from Dailystar.co.uk.

I know this was posted a few days ago but I'm thinking, since Haye has basically chosen to be a domestic level star rather than make a bonafide leap to become a legit world champion, what better opponent could he pick (after he wins a robbery against Harrison) than old man Holyfield? He's a name that everyone knows, and the casual British boxing fans who are Haye's main fanbase could easily be duped into thinking that this is a legit contest. With the help of Sky and the tabloids I'm sure this could be made into a mega mega fight. They could play the whole Britain vs America, young lion vs old legend, schtick. It'd be immense. Hell, I'd definitely pay (£1.50) for it.

    Here's hoping, eh?

Yeah, and Haye will try to claim they were two great victories against an olympic gold medalist and a legend, while the Klitschkos only face bums, I can see it now

The funny thing is, what if Holyfield won? I think Holyfield would try to unify in a hurry, so if it happens, please Holy, win!

Yup, no dilly dallying with the Real one. He's aiming straight for the top. Gotta respect that.

Haye is becoming the biggest joke in boxing. He challenged Wlad in 2007 by going up to him and talking trash at the charity event Wlad was attending. Its been 3 years now. What a joke.

I find it funny that Haye has a go at Wlad for fighting bums yet Haye is fighting Harrison next while Wlad is fighting a guy that used to hold a title.

Why the rush? The guy's been fighting kwoli'ee oppownunts his whole career, he's entitled to a tune up or fifteen.

So long as he fights/threatens to fight/steals the hat of/menacingly looks at one of the Klitschkos before he dies, I'm happy... Wait, he already did number 2. I'm a fan for life!

I'll give Haye some leeway for fighting Harrison because you can see why it makes sense from a promoter standpoint. Despite being useless, Harrison is extremely well known in the UK, so it'll be an easy fight to sell.

Listen, Audley A Force Harrison is a kwoli'ee oppownunt, not like that fat bum Wladimir is fighting who Harrison smashed to bits in the ama'urrs when he won his Gowd Medauwl back in 1924. The Hayemaker ownly fights the best. Believe it suckas.

Yep, and they're even giving us a bonus in Pac/Marg! I don't see how anyone can pass this one up.
