At Arena Solidaridad in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, Julio Cesar Miranda (33-5, 26KOs) made the first defense of his WBO flyweight title with a nine round beatdown of Ronald Ramos (29-9, 15KOs). Miranda sent Ramos down in the first with a right hand to the jaw, busted his face open by the fifth, and then punished him until Ramos was unable to come out for the ninth round. Miranda won the vacant title in June when he demolished Richie Mepranum in five rounds.
