I don't think it has much to do with the Corley fight to be honest.

I think people were just hating on Amir because he decided to fight Malignaggi instead of Maidana. So they kept on saying that he is ducking him because he is afraid of getting KO'd again. But in reality they would favor Amir beating Maidana, they were just mad at him for not taking the fight.

He's definitely overrated. He's powerful, but he's a boxing lesson waiting to happen. If Khan messes up, than someone with a better chin, like Bradley, Alexander, and even Ortiz will eventually just box his ears off.

U know what's funny, Ring Magazine has Maidana in the top 4 of the division, and yet Victor Ortiz isn't even in the top 10. But that's clearly his best win. He even outranks Kotelnik, and Kotelnik beat him.
