Would a marg vs cotto rematch still be plausible NEXT YEAR if Marg gets KTFO?

You might have seen me around campaigning against giving Marg a pay day, but I confess I'm extremely hyped over a possible rematch and would be willing to pay for that fight (among a few others). I've also noticed Marg can be a somewhat nice guy and he's starting to grow on me again (I still hope he gets his ass kicked and his sales stagger, but not too bad).

With that out of the way, lets get on to the topic at hand. Despite being a huge fight, it would be unlikely to see Cotto and Marg go at it again for a while if he gets badly beat up by Pacquiao. Of course one could make the argument that both of them got beat up by Pacquiao, and Cotto got a title shot immediately afterward. And then there's the fact that Arum seems to be in love with Marg so I wouldn't be surprised if he gave him a title shot too.

Sometimes my mind wanders and I wonder just how epic a rematch would be if Marg beat Pacquiao and went on to rematch Cotto in an unification. But such thoughts are as scary as they are epic, I'll stick with the less radical option and say Marg loses to Pac and the rematches Cotto sometime in 2012.

Then there's still the issue that Marg is only licensed in Texas (I dont think this will be the case for very long though) and I doubt Cotto is gonna settle to fight a mexican in a state with such a crooked judging history.

What do you guys think? I say late 2011/early 2012 if all goes well (excluding Marg's likely defeat against Pac).

I think Cotto should stick to his guns and not fight unless Margarito agrees to something like a 75/25 split. Cotto has the fan base, the title and is probably held in higher reguard over there @ Top Rank. Personally he wants revenge but business-wise he doesnt want Margarito to make any money with him

You sure about that??? I take it the times the place sold out was cause of the guy Margarito was fighting?? Example, Williams and Mosley.

The thing about Arum is that he understands that it is okay if Pac loses to Marg. Matter of fact it is okay to lose period, as long as you go down fighting. I enjoy watching Cotto fight even though he has lost, I enjoy watching Marg and many others fight because the give it their all, and are not afraid to take risks to beat their opponent. If Marg beats Pac it will be a good fight, possible rematch or a Cotto matchup. If Marg loses, I doubt it will be by a Hatton-like KO, and he can still fight Cotto. I'll steal a little from [U]Field of Dreams[U] yet add my own perspective, *WHISPER* "If you fight hard, they will come". Yes thats how it goes, lol.
