    Question About Roy Jones' Body??

Aight this question if for the people on here that know bodys and how they are affected...My question is, Can Roy Jones Jr's body heal? I know he lost 20lbs of muscle and i attached a pic of him in the Ruiz fight then the 2 tarver fights after and u can see a big difference in his body...He hasent been in the ring in almost a year...Can his body be healed from the muscle loss??

Yeah it can, time off could be the best thing for Jones plus I hear he has been sparring 3 times a week. 10 rounds. Lets hope Jones can get revenge

I'm shocked he's trying to fight at 175 again, i think he really struggles to make weight, it would be nice to see him even the score tho, he's capable of out-boxing Tarver but i think he's grown old very quickly and doubt he can do it

If he beats Tarver this third time, will everyone stop blaming everything on the weight loss thing. His problems came from lack of training and lack of focus. Look how garbage he looked vs. Glen Johnson. He wasn't the Roy Jones we all knew.

The only fight the weight loss thing is a reasonable excuse for is Tarver I, in my opinion

            Where'd you hear that?

And yes, losing muscle mass, especially at the age Roy lost and as much as Roy lost, can have a permanent affect on the body. Anyone with internet can find this out. It's a fact. It's also, unfortunately, linked to brain damage.

Those pictures are telling...man, looks like Roy aged 5-10 years from the Ruiz fight to the Tarver rematch in those pics.

And also, Roy didn't train hard at all for Glen, but he did train hard for the Tarver rematch.

After being a health nut since for 9 years (since I was 16), this is a pretty interesting question.

The loss of muscle mass can be attributed to a lot of things; incorrect diet, poor training habits, poor cardio work, just to name a few.

Losing muscle mass isn’t a good thing, however because Roy’s physique is “built” to begin with, it wouldn’t be hard for him to put the weight back on depending how hard he trains.

If he actually puts his mind to it, at 36 years old he can come in at 175 with around 6-7% body fat. He’ll probably be somewhere around 8% though. If he decides he really wants this fight, putting weight on in the form of muscle rather than cellulite shouldn’t be that hard for him.

It all depends on his mindset to be honest with you.

i think if Roy trains his ass off he would beat Tarver rather easily, his body just looked waaay more solid before all the weight fluctuations

Roy doesn't need to add muscle mass though, that is the issue. Unless he is going back to heavyweight

Having too much muscle for lightheavyweight was the problem. Trying to come down from 199 lbs of mostlu muscle to 175 lbs is not safe. Adding muscle now would be ******.

Gaining weight is not the issue here. I think you got confused.
