    Bait & Switch: Montiel-Donaire

Junior bantamweight star Nonito Donaire, who is moving up to bantamweight and headed toward a fight with unified titlist Fernando Montiel, will fight in December, probably on Miguel Cotto's next undercard, manager Cameron Dunkin told ESPN.com. However, the fall fight won't be against Montiel, as originally proposed. "Top Rank told me Nonito would be on that pay-per-view and that will lead to the Montiel fight early next year," Dunkin said. http://espn.go.com/sports/boxing/not...imir-klitschko

****ing POS Top Rank at it again. Same as the Bradley-Valero situation a few months back. Mentioing it constantly, then going another route.

Donaire is one of my favorite fighters to watch, histyle, skills, and talent are top notch, but he's facing nobodies... even worse, its much smaller nobodies. He was already a huge flyweight, so why does he have to pull up flyweights and Lt. flyweights to 115 and probably gonna do it again at 118...

Montiel would have been almost a consensus FOTY with a victory over Donaire this year, not anymore.

More Arum bullshyt. Theres no need to build this up just scrap it out.

Hell Moreno and Hasegawa are about to fight and Perez and Mares just fought. Lets get with it Bobby.

Bantamweight is pretty damn stacked. If only Cristian Mijares would make a come back...

I know, a big part of the reason fighters get popular is because they are in exciting fights against really good opposition. Pacquiao spent years fighting Barrera, JMM and Morales building a huge hardcore fanbase before he was able to crossover.

Donaire going to Top Rank turned out to be a terrible move for him.

Arum won't make this fight. Why have 1 popular fighter when you can have 2? is what he says to himself. Donaire's probably gonna fight Arce. Greedy mofo.

118 is stacked, Mijares is an afterthought or stay busy fight right now. Montiel was going to fight him in the Fall, but Mijares' team declined.

Should I have titled this thread 'Pacquiao's Company Bait & Switch' or 'Pacquiao's friend Donaire involved in a Bait & Switch' for it to get more posts?

You know what you're on to something. I swear I remember Arum saying he was going to put Donaire-Montiel on the Pac card. Hes full of it. It will be its own event.

I lost hope for this fight. Hell were still waiting for Gamboa-Lopez. Arum will just milk cash from all 4 guys..without them fighting each oher.

And whatever happened to the Bantam tourney. Im convined it was Arum keeping Dinaire and Montiel away from the tourney.
