Mayweather dun goofed up, because HBO will have to take a close look at his comments and ask whether they can afford to be shown to support racism.

Maybe it was Mayweather's plan all along. If he plays racist, the controversy will be so large that a fight with Pacquiao will be even harder to negotiate. It's my personal opinion that Mayweather wants nothing to do with Pacquiao and will stoop to any level to avoid him and preserve his undefeated status. His recent outburst gives him the excuse and controversy he needs to dodge the fight. In the end, fans of boxing lose out.

The fight can still happen, however I only give it a 15% chance of ever being made. There are far too many obstacles now. All of them constructed by Mayweather himself.

Thank you Floyd. The sooner you go on a permanent vacation the better. You're a disease to the sport.

Yes. The director of HBO Sports, Ross Greenburg is a racist who discriminates against white/European boxers.

Even Bob Arum said in early 2007 that he had a difficult time trying to persuade Greenburg to allow Kelly Pavlik on HBO because Kelly is white. Greenburg deeply believes white boxers are no good.

If a white boxer ever made those comments, he would likely be banned not only from HBO but from the sport of boxing.

            Really? Was this guy banned?

In 1979, Minter won all four of his fights, two of them by knockout. On 16 March 1980, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was given a shot at champion Vito Antuofermo's world Middleweight title at the Caesars Palace. He won the title by a 15 round decision, and in a rematch, he retained the world title by a TKO in eight rounds. Minter's run as world champion came to an end on 27 September of that year, when he was stopped on cuts in three rounds to Marvin Hagler at Wembley Arena in London. After the fight was stopped, Minter's supporters caused a riot, throwing beer cans and glass into the ring and both boxers had to be ushered away by the police. Prior to the fight, Minter made the blatantly racist statement on the BBC that "no black man is going to take my title away".

Floyd Mayweather is the new Alan Minter. Floyd Mayweather is the new face of blatant racism in boxing.

Ross Greenburg is white, and don't give me some **** if he is ***ish because ***ish and Italians are white people. If they weren't then why are their skin complexions the same as white ppl? My grandma is full Italian, and I consider her white.

Minter was never on HBO after that, or on any American TV network.

Those comments are similar to Bernard Hopkins saying "I'll never let a white boy beat me" (perhaps not as bad, because Minter didn't use the word "boy").

Floyd's comments are worse because he uses degrading, racist stereotypes of Asians.
