Comments Thread For: Mayweather's Racist Video Against Pacquiao Disgusts Fans

Explain to me, how is calling Pac-woman yellow (as in coward for not fighting Marquez in a rubber match) and saying he's ****** for accepting 70,000 for a Nike commercial being racist? Floyd was just telling the truth. Besides, Floyd has been called all sorts of racist names on this site? This thread topic is a waste of time and effort.

Mayweather is not only a disgrace to all blacks but to all americans. No we don't accept your apology until you fight Pac, cause we want Pac to destroy your ****** mouth.

So, what you are saying is, it's okay for Floyd to call out Pacquiao and make all these racist comments because some idiot posters said racist **** about Mayweather? Come on dude, Mayweather is a grown up and should know better! But the best comment was "Pacquaio can't speak no English!" Isn't that calling the kettle black... hahahaha

- You're right, racism and stereotypes are totally different. However, stereotyping while in itself is value-neutral, it is most easily employed for oftentimes unsavory, humor. Bottomline is that people hate to be bundled into stereotypes, even if it is not supposedly offensive, or not meant to be offensive.
Ex:
African-americans and fried chicken is supposedly not offensive, since a lot of non-blacks like fried chicken too much, and that liking fried chicken is not a bad thing. But the fact that it makes people assume that all blacks love fried chicken is a bit annoying if one were black and not into chicken.
Eating dog is another thing. Its an asian stereotype, but to keep on applying it to an individual who detests the slaughter of such an animal is downright insulting to said individual.
-Second, it is insulting if certain stereotypes were applied unto one person, who is clearly not part of the group that the stereotype is associated with.
ex:
Floyd calling Pacquiao yellow. Pacquiao, like most Filipinos are related to Malays, brown-skinned people, not mongoloids (yellow-skinned).
People expecting pinoys to act like what the popular notion of an asian is, with Floyd mumbling about sushi, something that people from the South-East Asian region do not do.
For a major network such as ESPN and a top news provider (USA Today) amongst others to print the story and calling it a "racist rant" is ridiculous. If Mayweather was an emotional basket case, maybe he should hire a team of lawyers and sue these media outlets for "defamation of character."
The point is; who cares? Comedians make racist jokes for a living, about any race, sheer racism is the foundation for many of the greats sets... and they're loved for it. Is Mayweather a comedian, no.... but nobody ****ted on Mayweather when he started salsa dancing at the press tour against DLH.

you say it's ridiculous, they say it's an appropriate description.
bottom line is, what floyd said illicits a different reaction from you compared to most ppl.
just like i wouldn't necessarily call you ridiculous for defending what he said.
that's how you felt and who are we to tell you how to feel.
