A few years back when Benard Hopkins was scheduled to fight J. Calzaghe; Benard made the "I can't lose to a white boy" comment which was done soley to market the fight.

At least the two fighters have an agenda, and that is to....sell an upcoming fight. Right, Wrong, or Indifferent - CONTROVERSY sells fights....

He's the kicker - WHAT'S ALARMING is the RACIST RANTS that POSTERS post here with ABSOLUTELY NO AGENDA , NO MARKETING , NO REASON WHAT SO EVER but to defend or justify their fighter's actions and/or status.

The guy is more famous for what he does outside of the ring than for what he does inside of the ring. Kind of like Tyson towards the end of his career. Unfortunately it will now spark another million floyd/pac threads

I guess I do agree with you (kind of)...Many fighters market a fight before it is ever signed. Case in point - Mosley marched in the ring at Floyd's recent victory over JMM and marketed himself. Marketing is marketing, trash talking and/or stereotypical rants are nothing different. Ali did it to Frazier. It was marketing to get people interested.
