Mayweather's Blatant Racism - Good Marketing Strategy?

    Simple question.

Will Floyd Mayweather's use of blatant racism against Filipinos and Asians pay off in the end in higher income for he and Pacquiao as the controversy that his racism brings builds buzz and publicity that will make the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight break records?

I don't know about the states, but in the UK the Hopkins "I'll never lose to a white boy" quote certainly sold that fight to a lot of people so sure, mayweather is offending Asians but it will make them watch the fight

If only this fight were to materialize, it would be good marketing strategy.

Just curious? Who remembers Benard Hopkins snatching the Puerto Rican flag out of Trinidad's hand, and throwing it to the ground in Puerto Rico. I remember 10,000 Boricua's in Roberto Clemente Stadium ready to riot over that stunt. Or, when Hopkins brought beans & rice to the final press conference and said it was Tito's last meal. My point is not that I condemn or condone Mayweather's statement, but acknowledge it enhances the pressure for Pacquiao to fight & beat him.

"I'm going to cook that little brown chump. And once I beat him I want him to nip down KFC and buy me a bargain bucket with plenty of hot sauce...just like mammy used to make. Then I'm going to make him make me a chicken SOUUULL FOOODDD wrap, and then send him to the penitentiary and chop his ass up."

What would happen if Pac said this?

pacquiao would never say that because he doesnt have to be disrespectful of an opponent to sell a fight. mayweather does because his fighting style is very boring to normal viewers who cant pay attention for more than a few minutes. however, mayweather isnt even promoting the fight so hes showing his true feelings and colors and hes a racist.
