I hope they find his son....this is a crazy situation, a very sad one as well. I'll pray that they find him alive and in good health...others should as well

Maybe he's just playing hide and seek.

Why wouldn't he just stay in one spot and wait for the cavalry?

He must be running for his life from a grizzly or cougar or something.

It sounds like he was ascending the summit so he would leave any unnecessary bags.

His climbing gear was missing from the day pack so apparently he was going to the top.

It sure sounds like he may have fallen somewhere en route.

              Let's hope he's alive.

That must weigh terribly heavy on his family.

Something seems a little screwy here, as an experienced hiker leaving his stuff by the way side and venturing off trail. You run from a cougar or bear you don't get far, if there are cliffs you make sure you have what you need. If he had no beacon of any sort, hiking alone, seems a little odd. If these hikers, snowmobilers, quaders etc. go into these situations grossly unprepared, they get what they deserve. I go so far as to say they'll find nothing, mystery. I feel sorry for the people that risk their lives looking for people who carelessly assume risk and need people to assume the same risk to find him.
