Barrera splitting image of J.C. Chavez...is it just me....

Really is it just me, or does MAB fight almost exactly like JCC? I mean the right in your face punch for punch style. The body blows the Barrera throws are just vicious just like Chavez. But then again, all mexican fighters fight like this; except De la Hoya. Duh!!

The last like 6 fights before this one he was a boxer/counter puncher. I think Castillo is more like JCC

i know exactly what ya sayin, his fighting style is similar to chavez, i remember watchin barrera fight jesuz salud and when he was puttin his combo's together and was all up in salud's face, i was thinking this is how chavez used to fight. during the fight even larry merchant was sayin his fighting how chavez used to fight. barrera is a great fighter and i hope he has a great 2005, with an end of year fight with manny pacquiao

Nope Barrera isnt. But he is another in the list of great champs to come out of Mexico.

Chavez's style was like an offensive counter punching coming forward into the line of fire, looking to avoid the jab to land his big lead right, follow it up with a left hook to the body. He doesnt have the kind of Fire Chavez had in his punches, or the kind of intention Chavez seemed to have, he was a lot like a stalker always looking to hurt you. Barrera is more passive.
