Should Haye sign to fight Harrison?

I've had enough of the negotiations, Klitschkos are signed into other fights, Adamek will want a few months off first, so its chagaev or harrison really as the only options right now.

I say sign the harrison fight, get it over with and move forwards

Chagaev would be a better name, and more of a challenge.

In my opinion, audley would take some serious punishment and would get KOd. If it shuts audley up, then he shud sign the fight n get another KO on his record.

Maybe, but not by much, If haye beats chagaev people will just say he was old and shot, it wont be a great win, neither will Harrison, but i say Harrison makes more sense, financially at least.

Haye has to fight a top fighter after this one, so imo cash in on fraudley, and then fight an adamek or a klitschko.

Chagaev wouldn't be a great win, but the fact is that he is more relevant than Harrison will ever be. Seriously, disregard the British thing for a moment - it counts for nothing in the long term, and no serious boxing fan should use it as an excuse because it's a cop-out.

Harrison has been a joke for the past decade, whereas Chagaev is a former HW titlist; has only been beaten once, by Wladimir; and was the first man to beat Valuev. He's also Haye's mandatory. Granted, I don't like him at all, but he has oodles more credentials than Fraudley.

So, Chagaev makes more sense in terms of resume. I know that's not supposed to mean anything to the fighters, but we - the judgemental boxing audience - put more stock in names than financial decisions.

He was meant to fight a top fighter after Barrett, FFS. :eyeroll:

Chagaev has been a world champion in two different weight classes in the amateurs, and has won a world title as a pro. He's only ever lost once, to a VERY GOOD fighter namely Wlad. Audley has been beaten by taxi drivers and journeymen.

Chagaev is SEVEN years younger than Audley.

Harrison turns 39 in October and Chagaev turns 32. Chagaev is cruiserweight-sized, and is naturally smaller than Haye.

Haye hasn't fought anyone under age of 37 since he moved up!

Tuns, how much credit do you think Haye should receive for A) fighting Chagaev; and B) beating Chagaev? I'm on the fence, because it's not the fight everyone wants to see at this point, but it's certainly better than Audley bloody Harrison of all people...

Chagaev has been rather inactive but he's still a bona fide top ten heavyweight. He would easily be Haye's best win.

Ruslan defeated a younger version of Valuev by a wider margin than Haye, landing far more punches on him.

Boxrec has Haye scheduled to fight Harrison, not sure how concrete that is.
