Did Ali beat Berbick in terms of boxing?

I just watched Ali's last bout for the very first time this evening. Extremely distressing, he was obviously in no fit condition mentally or physically to box.

Yet I was amazed how much punishment he was still able to take, AND how close it was, in terms of boxing.

Obviously as a fight, Berbick had the better of things - Ali was little more than a punchbag at times, and Trevor was laying into him. But in terms of a technical boxing match, I reckon a case could be made that it was at least a draw. (What was the final score anyway?)

I had Ali clearly winning rounds 1 and 3, with a lesser argument for 9. There were also a couple of close rounds in 8 and 10, as well as some vaguely Ali-ish rounds earlier on. It didn't matter if he got knocked around in the others - all Ali needed to do was win five to draw.

    So what do we think?

It shows you how great Ali was. It is well documented that he was already sufferring from the early stages of Parkinson's Syndrome when he fought Holmes and Berbick and he still gave them problems. Think about it Ali was 40 years old with Parkinson's and they couldnt knock him out.
