Comments Thread For: WBC's Sulaiman: Abraham-Froch Has Not Been Sanctioned

Contrary to the recent comments that were made by Carl Froch, World Boxing Council secretary general Mauricio Sulaiman advised BoxingScene.com that Froch's bout with Arthur Abraham, scheduled for October 2nd, has not been sanctioned as a title fight.

One of the few things they've gotten right lately and it turned out they didn't. Swell.

Ironically, the 2 fighters that are at least ranked don't get a shot at the belt that Kessler is vacating, yet Manny and Tony, who aren't properly ranked, get a shot at Sergio's vacated belt...these guys are jokes.

this doesn't involve Pac and Marg but since you butt in, Marg is WBC#1 bcoz he captured the WBC International title. Ranking him after that fight is legitimate, but before that fight it's clouded. As for Pac he is the best pound 4 pound fighter! He's the #1 contender in what ever weight class he would prefer to fight!

Dirrel is ranked number 1 and he would be having that belt had he not been robbed in Nottingham

Sort it out Sulaiman. Having the WBC title in the competition will help the cause of finding the best 168er, especially considering that a unification fight will take place in the final with the WBA title at stake. When the competition is said and done, hopefully Bute will challenge the winner to certify the number 1 man in one of the boxings best divisions.

I agree...and if Kessler stalls on dropping his belt, then Dirrell could end up being the one, himself, who gets a chance at fighting for the title once it is vacant.Unfortunately,it would take Kessler to stall for the proper choice to be made from the WBC....that's their ranking system for you.

There's no problem and it'll be sorted out as soon as Kessler has officially filed the paperwork of him vacating.

This is a very little story TBH.

lol!!! Off of Margarito's last victory, you really believe that he should be ranked legitimately!!!?

As for Manny-just because you are LABELED P4P doesn't make him able to be ranked at number 1 or 2 in a weight class that he hasn't fought in (and begs for that vacant belt by catchweight) by anyone with a working brain cell.
Don't let your love for him blind you....Most fighters have to EARN their way through the rankings...when did he,and are you saying that these other JMW's should be brushed aside just because of popularity????

You sound more like a fanatical lover of Manny, not a fan of boxing.
