Super welterweights Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (33-0-1, 25 KOs) and former world champ Carlos “Tata” Baldomir (45-12-6, 14 KOs) hosted an international media conference call today to discuss preparations for their upcoming bout on the September 18 “200: Celebrate and Dominate” Mosley vs. Mora pay-per-view telecast.
Saul Alvarez: “Every opponent I’ve faced has said they’re going to knock me out. I don’t care about words, I’m going to be the winner…I’m motivated for this fight. Baldomir is a great fighter, I have to get beyond fighters like him for a world title.”
Regarding Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: “I’ll fight Chavez Jr anytime, it’s up to my promoters. Let them talk and reach an agreement, but I will fight him — no problem.”
Carlos Baldomir: “I don’t think I’m going to see anything I haven’t seen before. I think he’s a novice. I think he’s good but I’m better…When the bell rings I’m going to come at him. I’m going for the KO…I’ve beat all the Mexicans I’ve faced and I plan to make him the next.”
