          Technically speaking you would be right, but that's not how the word is used.

          Using that definition would make Trinidad an African-American.

                    There are fighters from every race who come forward, just like there are fighters who like to box and move. Sergio Martinez and Ivan Calderon aren't black. Guys like James Kirkland, Timothy Bradley, Paul Williams, Shane Mosley, Glen Johnson, Tavoris Cloud, etc. come to fight.
