Mayweather Has Made A Huge Mistake

This is a huge mistake on his part. Huge in terms of his legacy and it's all his and Arum's fault.

If Pacquiao shows any vulnerability against Margarito, he will get no credit before or after facing and beating Pacquiao. People will say he was already slipping and that's the only reason he fought him, etc. He better hope Pacquiao looks as invincible as he has in his last few fights.

Good thing he doesn't fight for legacy though.

When has Floyd ever cared about Legacy? He was the one that said "Legacy don't pay bills"

floyd don't fight for legacy, he fights for money right? so how come he's passing up the most lucrative fight in boxing today?

It wouldn't matter either way. Floyd just fought Shane Mosley 4 months ago, becoming The WW champ and today is called a coward. Floyd beats Pac and Martinez and it still won't matter. He'll get his praise 20 yrs from now, no time sooner. The posters in this thread were the exact same people that said Floyd wouldn't fight Shane. IRONY.

It will... unless the winner of Cotto-Chavez Jr. wins impressively. Another lucrative, 'safe' Top Rank opponent opens up for Pacquiao. If Jr. win it's the best case scenario for Arum.

Arum is the key, he actually has to want to make the fight for it to get done.

Why'd Arum step aside and let Duboef negotiate the Pavlik-Williams fight? Because he wanted to make the fight, but knew he couldn't negotiate with Al Haymon without blowing a gasket.

Why wouldn't he do that for an even bigger fight in Pacquiao-Mayweather?

what does it matter? for every floyd victory there's a hundred excuses as
                    to why he won....
