Realistically, what would have Rahman's chances have been against Vitali?

For those who may not have known, the two were set to fiight some time in November of 2005 but got cancelled a few weeks before the fight due to some injury of Vitali's.

Would Rahman have had any chance at all?

Unless vitali is severally ill, injured AND rahman is on pcp.
Then he would have about a 5% chance of winning.

Just the fact that you need to ask this question is amusing in itself.

Rahman always had a puncher's chance but he would've struggled to deal with Vitali's size and I think every time he tried to do something Vitali would just lean back and move away in the awkward way that he does and that would basically neutralize a lot of what Rahman would've tried to do. Klitschko by stoppage was my prediction back then and I haven't changed my mind.

The thread was directed towards those who could offer greater, more in-depth analysis of this fight than your clueless,half-arsed response.

basically, posters who actually know what they're talking about(see post below your own).

Well Vitali was suffering from terrible back problems at the time so he would've definitely had a chance. Were Vitali in near top form, however, Rahman would've got merced. Even prime, Hasim was flat footed and would've had trouble getting close enough to Vit to land his big right hand. Vitali would've kept his distance, peppered Rahman with shots from the outside and probably ended things in about the sixth or seventh.

The idea that Vitali ducked Rahman is, and always has been, laughable to me.

Because an old Lennox Lewis is a billion times better than Rahman has ever been. Oh no Rahman beat Lewis in the 1rst fight, big whoop! Rahman got stomped in the rematch, it made the first fight look like Lennox Lewis didn't take Rahman seriously and paid the price because of it.

Yeah, thats why Rahman couldn't KO Lewis in the rematch. Because it was luck he KO'd Lewis in the first fight, I hate boxing fans who claim luck isn't part of boxing because thats bull****. It's not all skills, sometimes its the lucky punch that wins the fight. And thats all Rahman had is his power. When Oleg KO'D Rahman twice, you knew there was no luck behind that!
