It's funny how quickly he jumped at the chance to face Pascal, but when Dawson had the belts, he was in hiding

Dawson is American, after seeing how he spiritually and emotionally damaged the American Pavlik, Hopkins chose to not go down that road again. Why hurt the future of American boxing, but Pascal isnt American and is ripe for the taking.

Article says B-Hop is a 3 division champ? What 3 divisions? Middleweight, Light Heavyweight, and ??? Even in the day of 4 major sanctioning bodies, a lineal sanctioning body (RING), a computerized sanctioning body (IBO) and countless minor sanctioning bodies, I cannot find anyone who recognized B-Hop as a champ in a 3rd division.

I believe it was just poorly worded. I'm pretty sure the author is referring to BHop lifting the WBA strap off of Tito Trinidad to add to the WBC & IBF belts he already had at MW, thus seeing him as the first person to unify the 3 recognized belts at the middleweight division since (I think) Marvelous.

I can't let you get away with throwing crap at a wall and seeing if it sticks. The Dawson & Pavlik comparison as it relates to BHop not wanting to "destroy" young American fighters holds no water. First off, BHop had a catchweight bout against Mr. Staph Infection which was at 170 lbs, easily giving BHop the advantage of making someone that relies on the right cross to be absorbed by a bigger, or at least a man that fought closer to LHW for a minute. Staph never fought above 164, at least not on the big stage, which was what he weighed in the rematch with Jermain. Second but most important, Kelly is a basic 1-2 fighter who is also orthodox. This is where your argument falls completely apart b/c Chad showed to be a slick, patient, and crafty boxer at least pre Pascal. Chad showed different angles and the ability to fight backwards. Add in a 6'3" heighth with a larger wingspan and being southpaw to boot, like I said you're drinking the kool-aid with this "I don't want to destroy the future of American boxers."

Pascal is not that good. He fights in spurts, in order to beat Hop, you need to fight 3 min of every round. Not to mention Pascal has a bad chin
