I doubt that happens, I hope it does but I don't know how well Pacquiao's power carried up in the higher weight classes. I mean I think Pacquiao vs any 140 pounder is a nightmare for any 140 pounder. Hatton was very unlucky to fight Pacquiao at 140. I think Pacquiao's best power is at 140.
Agreed. I think Manny's a natural junior welterweight.

This is him in his prime weight.
Margarito just smiles, shakes his head and keeps attacking.
Margarito isn't some chump from England who was protected by his promoter. He's a real fighter.
I love Ricky Hatton, but in comparison to Margarito's sturdiness he's a totally different kettle of fish. Especially when you consider the size difference.

I love him too. As a person cuz' he seems like a really fun and decent chap, but as a fighter I always found him to be very average.
i think marg will get david diaz'd here meaning he'll be there willing as long as he can but pacquiao's footwork is going to leave a come forward fighter like margarito completely baffled that combined with the speed and power
whether manny can take shots from marg is another question entirely but he took cotto's pretty ****in and clotteys (the few he did land mind you) well so he should be ok
If you consider and adjust the power for the weight at which this fight will be fought(151 lbs.) What happens if Pacquiao lands the punch he stopped Hatton with on Margarito? It was one of Pacquiao's strongest punches to date.. However Hatton and Margarito don't quite have the same chins, and Pacquiao has never fought at this high a weight limit. Poll to follow.
i did the exact same thread but for the Cotto fight
with that said, the Hatton punch was just perfect...Tony does get hit alot so PAC will have plenty of chances to land that punch...however, if Tony does go down, it will probably be from a punch he doesn't see coming...either that or from an accumulation of punches

I get what you're saying with the chins, and I see your acknowledging the potential for Margs' power but.. Diaz was at LW, this is at 151 and Margarito hits much harder and throws much more. Diaz was little more than a punching bag, Margarito will be a lot closer to a timebomb.

margarito should be able to walk through a shot like that coming from a former 106 lber.

"Great" minds think alike! General consensus is that the punch might wobble or stun. If Pac's best possible punch which few believe he can even land will only wobble or stun.. This could be one serious fight, and not one where Pacquiao can just plan to go to war. Also, if Margarito can force Pac to backpedal ala Cotto. Pacquiao will lose a lot of zip on his power punches. Can't you already hear the commentators in the 2nd round jumping on board the Margarito's too big train? Merchant: "Pacquiao's... never.... been hit.. by.... such a dynamic volume puncher."
