I'm glad someone is on my wavelength mate. Some people fail to understand the difference between skills and talent. Floyd is undoubtedly skilled, but some fail to see that he would not be able to employ all of his skills without his atheletic qualities, like Roy Jones Jr. If Floyd didn't have his atheletic qualities nobody would be calling him the most skilled of all time, that is an inarguable fact!

I disagree as much as one can respectfully disagree. Floyd has more natural ability because of his father but he works harder than every other fighter in the sport. I think this is where floyd's antics and persona hurt him the most.

But having athleticism is still irrelevant to learning skills. If he was slow he could still learn the shoulder roll he just wouldn't look as good doing it. James Toney is slower yet he took the time to learn the skill. All I'm saying is speed, athleticism, power, size affect how one looks using what they learn in the gym.

I think that people like Hopkins are no less skilled than Floyd, doing what they do without outstanding atheletic qualities. What makes you think though that Floyd works harder than everybody else, I'm not saying he doesn't and know he is diligent but how do you know he works harder. To me, Pacquiao and many other dedicated fighters workout hard! I don't know how you can gauge who is the hardest worker tbh! Not an argument btw, just a point!

I think Floyd is more dedicated, never seen him the least bit chubby or far from his fighting weight.

Although I am a Pac fan, I too agree that Floyd is the more skilled fighter, anyone who doesn't is a stan or is deluding themselves. However, while Pac is more atheletic than Floyd in some aspects (agility, speed?maybe, power) he certainly doesn't posess Floyd's timing and reflexes!

I should have said as hard or harder. fair point. you don't stay in top shape and learn those skills without working hard. Bernard absolutely stays in the gym and is a master of the craft. Floyd does too.

Bhop may have as many skills but I don't recall seeing all of them on display throughout his career.

i think some people are just misinterpreting what we're trying to say. we're not in anyway criticizing floyd or being negative to him because as far as i'm concerned there is nothing wrong with having good natural abilities over skills. it's a gift so anyone who has it should use it.
