    TONY JEFFRIES has split with trainer Bobby Rimmer after 18 months together.

    The Olympic bronze medallist (7-0-1) is being trained by Sean Casey for his next fight at Rainton Meadows Arena, Houghton-le-Spring on Saturday 11th September.

    He was terrible in his last fight and fought to a draw, hasn't looked impressive in the pro ranks and has neglected the jab that won him so many fights in the amateurs.

    I was hoping he'd go with a better known trainer in UK or someone abroad, but hopefully Casey gets him back on track.

      The tools are there with Jeffries but they are very raw, he needs better training and better sparring. There are trainers in the UK that can make him better but I think he should spend some time in the US sparring with the guys there, it won't only make him a better technical fighter but it'll make him a more confirdent fighter too.

        I like Jeffrie, he works hard,gets great sparring at Olympic gym with Carl Froch has all the attributes but if he used his jab instead of tiering himself with hooks and uppercuts he could be great.
