it's like people agree that floyd mayweather is at his very, very best when counter-punching and then blame him when his opponent's stop punching.

we're watching him make future hall-of-famer's punch stat numbers plummet round after round and people are getting disappointed because he's not something else.

that said, i love when he opens up and beats on people. love it. all that does is make his critics sing a different tune by critisizing him for not doing that every fight it seems like it should.

if other boxers of his stature (your de la hoya's, your mosley's, your jones jr's) came out and made valid points, i wouldn't mind. i would assume that they know more about what's going on then writers and board members that have never boxed on that level and never will. the thing is, that they don't.

I COMPLETLY AGREE! FMJ is probably my favorite fighter. Not because i'm a *****(I ain't I will call him on his ****), but because he has more talent than any other fighter in the game. In saying that, I think he should show that more and take more chances. I loved him most when he was aggressive as well as tactical at the lower weights. And, even though part of the Mosley fight were boring(not FMJ fault for once), it was great to see him go after Mosley just to prove a point and give the fans their money's worth.

I think/hope/pray that he will do the same when he and Pac finally get it on. He SHOULD feel that he has a lot to prove in that fight. He should take all the "coward", "duck" negative comments, the perceived slight as FOTD and the fact that he feels Pac's team has tried to make him look that bad guy in negotiations and bring all of that to the ring. Use all of that and fight a smart but very AGGRESSIVE fight(you can be aggressive and still have good defense). Show the world who the best p4p really is. If he does, I'm sure even the haters will have to admit his greatness.

Hmm, I think you're kinda selling FMJ short here. YES, he is the very best counter puncher out there, but I think the reason that so many people might get upset with him is that, they realize that he is just resting on his laurels if he just relies on that. He is soooo much more than just a counter puncher. FMJ can do just about ANYTHING he wants to do in the ring. He has so many tools in his toolbox, its not even cute. He has just gotten so used to using JUST his counter punching and beating guys that way.

It's like when people talk about the problems JMM gave Pac. Then someone will point out that FMJ is alot like JMM only better. Then someone will say reply "they are very different. JMM is more aggressive and throws combinations". Ummm, HELLO?? FMJ can fight aggressively if he chooses and is a GREAT combination puncher...WHEN HE DECIDES TO USE THOSE ATTRIBUTES. Only problem is, as he has moved up in weight, he has decided (all too often), not to. So, although he doesn't have any obligation to the fans or anyone else to fight a more exciting fight, it would be nice and he does have all the tools in the world to do it, if he wants to.

what frustrates me most about floyd is his total domination and ass whoopings. He never gives the guy a chance to make it interesting
