    Pics from Calderón vs. Segura...

Had a great time at the fight! It was my second time going to a boxing event. The first one was a crappy one, headlined by Cesar Seda, Jr. Good kid, but not the kind of atmosphere you crave for. I went with my family to the fights, great time! I saw politicians, boxing legends, great atmosphere, interesting fights, etc. It was great. I'm going to try and upload them. Give me a sec...

Good stuff. Good card. How was the atmosphere when Calderon took a knee? From my TV it looked like a funeral, lol. And I'm asking that in the most sincere way possible.

We have to bump this to the second page, as there are a lot of pics slowing the first page of this thread down.

Anyway, there's heavy downpour over Puerto Rico and connection's kinda bad, but I'm doin' the best I can to upload the best images. I took 116 pictures at the fight.

To answer the questions so far:

No, I didn't go to the Seda/López card. Why would I pay to see Seda/Lópex when I could go to see a bigger fight at just $25? It's a steal if you ask me, and I got to see a lot of stars in the process.

Second answer: When Calderón went down, people were shouting regardless. In fact, I heard some people in the crowd cheering for Giovanni, but there were very few of them. I (and everyone around me) was standing up after Segura had that huge round in the 5th when he cornered Calderón on the ropes (because we were worried). It's weird when you see a fight up close and realize ducking and slipping and manuevering out of a corner is not easy. I saw Segura landing those shots on Calderón in the corner and I thought: "Damn, is Calderón gonna' recover from this?"

Needless to say, everyone was standing up for the remainder of the fight as Calderón rallied in his last stand. So that was what...for 3 1/2 rounds I stayed on my feet watching the fight and cheering with the rest as Calderón tried to slug it out with Segura. I tell you, those last three and a half rounds before Calderón folded were epic stuff. There was one old man beside me telling me that Calderón was not going to survive. I kinda' expected it, but held out that he wouldn't. Still, it was an exciting night nevertheless.

People were surprisingly receptive at the end of the fight. I'm not sure if they were applauding Giovanni's effort or Iván for fighting as long as he did. Either way, great crowd here in Guaynabo.
