well, he hasnt fought one that did it all the way...Marquez tried to do that more than anyone before.......JMM lost all rounds, but he really didnt have the strength to get Mayweather uncomfortable(still, mayweather was way less impressive than HBO made him look...people who watch fights on mute can attest to it)...
DLH mixed up boxing and pressuring, and hey, because of mayweather's economic style, it was almost enough to steal a decision(and again, if you actually look at the fight without being blinded by status, DLH did a decent work blocking and looking flashy for the judges til he got tired)

Mosley wasnt too old or too slow. He looked perfectly fine in the first few rounds, but because Floyd was able to nullify mosleys attack, he wasnt able to continue with it.
Oscar pressured the **** out of him in their fight, and Castillo gave him two good fights.
I dont think theres anyone with the style of Ray Leonard in the boxing scene at the moment. The only guy with that sort of power/speed/combos is Pacquiao. Other than Pac, im thinking Williams.

Easy answer!
Originally posted by Dynamite Kid View PostMayweather has never fought a consistent Boxer, i just realized this, now im not talking about a consistent fighter!, like a Ricky Hatton, Jesus Chavez, Castillo, im talking about a consistent Boxer!!!, like a Terry Norris, like a Ray Leonard, fighters who are going to take it to you, fighters who are fast combination punchers who are going to put punches together when you shell up and are going to be consistently aggressive throughout the fight, but whom are fighting out of a Boxing stance, instead of a brawling/unorthodox type of stance, now i know both these fighters are retired, and was bigger in Norris's case, but do you think these type of styles could break Mayweather's style?
Could Mayweather be defensive and get enough done offensively to repel a fighter like that, im not sure he could, i dont think he could be defensive and not let it effect his offense, now i know Mayweather's offense comes from his defense, but how much transition from offense to defense are you going to get against quick combination punchers like this?
I guess Mosley could fall into that category, but Mosley is too old to be as consistent as he was, needs to be.

At 147 and 154, someone who could constantly stay in Floyd's face and had the speed, athleticism, and combination punching like Leonard would give him hell, because Floyd is not the powerful, combo throwing force he was at 135 and 130.
That's why I think Paul Williams would outwork and beat Floyd, is because he would just keep throwing no matter what Floyd did. We haven't seen Floyd have to fight and fight and fight for 12 rounds against an opponent who can do what Oscar did some rounds. Of course, other than Williams and Pacquiao no one really fits that mold.

LOOOOOL, so basically your saying he pressured him but because he couldnt beat him he wasnt 'good enough' at what he did?
Ridiculous. Maybe its hard for you guys to admit but dont you think that there's the slightest possibility that the guys just werent good enough to beat him, regardless of tactics?

Castillo wasn't a consistent "boxer" when he fought Floyd, he was a "fighter". The OP is talking about "boxers".

Lets look at the 'boxers' Floyd fought:
Corley
Judah
Mosley
Marquez
Oscar
During this period what 'boxers' have their been for Floyd to face?
Only Pacquiao and Cotto come to mind, unless Williams comes down to 147.
