this is exactly what im talking about. this is what happens when you dont know your boxing history.

what he doesnt know about rocky marciano was that all of his notable wins came against past prime opponents. much like his joe calzaghe comparison.

rocky marciano's average age of opponents was something like close to mid 30s. even his undefeated record is flawed. his fight vs ezzard charles was allowed to continue even though he had a grotesque cut on his nose. it was allowed to continue in order to preserve his undefeated record as a white heavyweight champion in a racist time period in america.

what's marciano's notable win? old, fat, shot, joe loius?

what's calzaghe's most notable wins? a combined 80 plus year olds hopkins & jones jr.?


you want to talk about ricardo lopez? sure great fighter, hall of famer. but far from the greatest. he hid in minimum weight avoiding challenges vs chiquita gonzales, michael carbajal, kasoi galaxy, & a host of challenges at flyweight & light flyweight. he only moved up after those guys moved up.

then why did you mention him first? i was only replying to you when you said mayweather, calzaghe, and lopez never avoided anyone when that is blatantly untrue. you can come up with all the excuses you want about not being a ppv draw, living in puerto rico, being on roids, opponents ducking floyd etc... but floyd could have made those fights happen if he really wanted and he didn't want them to happen. thus his undefeated record is extremely suspect cause it wasn't earned fighting the best.

Calderon's legs are almost gone, guy has been slipping for a while.

Segura still deserves a ton of credit, but it's not difficult to see that Ivan isn't what he once was.

I personally thought it was a 50/50 fight.

Saying Calderon has been slipping is not a slight on Segura, it's merely fact.

A slipping Calderon is still better than 90% of the fighters out there. Segura deserves major props, I never said he didn't.

Just saying there have been signs of Calderon slipping since the second Cazeras fight. And I've been saying that before this fight and I stand by it.
