when i look at what valero had decent speed, power, workrate, heart, desire, guts he was almost the total package

he would've done some serious damage to some of these 140 so called champions there's no question

we know he never faced the kind of opposition that would've shown his abilities to the full however the way he steam rolled opponents suggested this guy was meant for big things

exciting to watch and the whole bike accident situation only made him more intriguing

a truly terrible loss for boxing and the sad thing is we'll never know the truth about what happened the day he and his beautiful wife died

it really doesn't get any more tragic than the story of valero

haven't seen the fight yet but from what i've read maidana could'nt even beat chop chop convincingly valero would've smashed him to pieces

He didn't beat Corley convincingly but Corley doesn't have his hands low like Valero. DeMarco was countering Valero plenty of times but lacked power, Valero's defence is suspect, he'd probably lose to Marquez if he fought him @ 135.

Valero would lose to a top 5 140 lbs. he wont have a chance against Bradley, Khan, Alexander, Kotelnik and probably a close decision in favor of Maida. not even a chance against Ortiz.

Valero wipes them all out. Most easily Bradley and Alexander.

Khan's running might give him some trouble and Maidana's right hand might be poison for his southpaw stance.

          RIP great champion

He'd beat Alexander and probably Ortiz, but not Bradley or Maidana. Alexander doesn't have the footwork or defense to keep Valero away, and I can't see Ortiz winning unless he's able to outboxes him, which is possible but very challenging, especially because there's holes in Ortiz's defense. I don't know...Ortiz needs to get tested one more time before I can see what he's about. Right now I think Valero would KO him. The outcome of a Khan fight would be a matter of whether he can land or not. Khan is very capable of keeping him away. I'd probably say Khan by UD.

Even though I don't think he'd beat Maidana, that fight would be a war as mentioned earlier in this thread. I wouldn't be too surprised if he managed to win, but I just can't see it happening. I also don't see him beating Bradley because like Khan, he has very fast feet, great reflexes and movement. He can keep Valero away from him, and also land because of the holes in his defense. And it took him 8 rounds to put an outclassed DeMarco away, so its not like he's proved that he can easily knock a world class fighter out.

How the world is everyone picking Alexander over him? Valero would destroy Alexander.

I know Valero/Bradley would have won fight of the year (I was really excited for that)

Khan more than likely beats him becuz Valero cuts easily and Khan is super fast. Although, that effin glass jaw is always a factor.

Alexander went from a sure victory to a hmm.... toss up after Kotelnik

I remains to be seen what kind od punch Valero could take, but I have to assume, as a smaller guy, Maidana and Ortiz's power would be too much. Ortiz is likely to stop him via cuts. I do think he could beat Ortiz on points. But Maidana is likely to just be too powerful.

Everyone else is more than beatable. He'd do Kotelnik the same as Maidana, only he has far better technique. He'd beat the likes of Lamont Peterson becuz I think he's got a suspect chin himself. Uhh... I'm not sure who else, but that's what I say.

(Anyone get excited at the idea of Valero vs Juan Diaz?)

He would kill the feather fisted guys like Bradley and Kotelnik probable 4th or 5th round knockouts

He would have wars with Ortiz and Maidana but probable loss to the naturally bigger guys.

1st round KO against Khan and Alexander.

He would loss a decision to Guzman

                      Valero cleans out the division.

Khan, Maidana, Ortiz & Alexander all get KTFO.

Kotelnik and Bradley get out-manned and out-worked.

"He could've been somebody". He could've been one of the Greats.
