Comments Thread For: Scoring Error Changes Result: Kameda Edges Jamoye

It was originally scored as a ten round draw but late last night it was noticed that judge Stephen Blea's scorecard was not correctly added. As a result, Tomoki Kameda (16-0, 11KOs) beats previously undefeated Stephane Jamoye (18-1, 8KOs) of Germany to pick up the WBC Youth World title at the Lobo Dome in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. The score of Blea was announced as a 96-96 score for the draw, but later it was revealed to have actually been 96-95 fopr Kameda. The other scores were 96-95 Kameda and 96-95 for Jamoye.

I am hearing over here in Japan that Don Jose Sulaiman is behind this change in one of the scorecards. After all, exactly the same thing -scorecard modification- has happened when Tomoki was a amateur. This is no good for the sport of boxing, let alone two young prospects. I guess both of these guys should spend no time going into a rematch to take care of business. A score is to be settled in boxing.

That has got to be the worst way to lose a fight. Just chilling afterwards and "oh by the way, they messed up the scorecards and you lost that fight."

He was probably disappointed with a draw anyway.
