    Watched UFC Tonight..........

And was severely disappointed. The whole card ******, from top to bottom. Penn/Edgar was the only half-way decent fight. I'm glad Edgar won, because I bet on him. Other than that though, I wish I would have watched Segura/Calderon somehow. Or any boxing for that matter. It was terrible. No fights had ANY degree of action outside of Penn/Edgar, which had next to none. Don't worry boxing fans, tonight's UFC proved one thing, and one thing only: Boxing is by FAR the superior sport in terms of excitement value. From what I've read, Segura/Calderon was a barn-burner. I have to see it now. If anyone can provide a video, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Calderon-Segura was great. It will be online in different places in no time. Clearly a contender for FOTY in my opinion. Maidana-Corley was entertaining too...

        Obviously people dont appriciate skills.

What Edgar did today was just take Penn to school.

It was completely one sided and was a great fight

Im no MMA fan but BOXING has more excitment value then MMA?

"It was completely one sided and was a great fight"

You do see the irony in that statement, don't you? It was a clinic put on by Edgar, no doubt. But not nearly the thriller that Sonnen/Silva was. The whole card was just flat. UFC 117 was much better. And to insinuate that I don't appreciate skills is preposterous to say the least. I am a fan of both boxing and MMA. But to say that Edgar/Penn was a great fight is just not true. I watched it in a bar, and you could hear crickets chirping. And YES, boxing does have more excitement value than MMA. There's been a ton of good boxing matches this year that were sheer classics. What has MMA produced that was really noteworthy outside of Sonnen/Silva that will be remember down the road?

I only watch the UFC PPVs but missed the silva fight, which i heard was great.

But i really enjoyed the fight tonight. RARELY in any sport do you see the favorite completely dominated and shut out.

            Lesnar-Carwin?

Lesnar/Carwin was fun. Slightly anti-climatic, but fun. But I still don't understand why Edgar was the underdog. He'd already beaten BJ. I was like "WTF?" So I wagered on him, and won! It was an enjoyable fight. Not great, but a good solid technical showcase by Edgar. His footwork, movement, wrestling, everything was spot on. I've never seen BJ so out of sync. Edgar seems to be the truth. But to be honest, it was really a boring fight. No real action, no exchanges......just Edgar dancing circles around Penn, and scoring takedowns. It was basically what I expected. I watch MMA to see WARS, like we see in boxing. But often times, it's just so technical, we don't get that. Sonnen/Silva was a war. Lesnar/Carwin was a war. Marquart/Sonnen was a war from earlier this year. They happen in UFC, just with far less frequency. The pace of most MMA fights, is much slower than that of boxing matches I find. Which is why I prefer boxing.

No problem chiming in with your opinion, so long as your logical. That's what these forums are for. It's just the idiots who bring race and ethnicity into their debates that ruin it.

Yea right now all the thread are pretty much about Mexicans trashing Puerto Ricans Because Calderon lost.

The mexican fans who didnt even see the fight are saying how great Segura looked.

All i know is that when i watched the fight, the last thing i was thinking about was Mexico Vs PR
