The pituitary gland controls the level of testosterone in the body. When the testosterone level is low, the pituitary gland releases a hormone called luteinizing hormone (LH). This hormone tells the testicles to make more testosterone. See a picture of the pituitary gland .

Head Trauma and Testosterone
Does this mean that fighters should be expected to be less muscular during the end of their careers, especially if they have been in a lot of wars? Evander for example has been in a lot of wars and his more built than ever. Toney himself here is shown to have way below the norrmal hormones for a person and he had massive arms and pectorals during his fights with Peter I and Peter II. Do people here suspect that those guys (and others) have juiced during the later parts of thier careers? -
An issue that occurs for one person, may not be true for the other. Just cause Toney is a boxer, and has suffered an injury to his pituitary gland, and it has cause low levels of testostarone, doesn't mean that will happen to every single fighter.
Like someone once said on here before, yeah, Toney's body could be a result of this injury, but it could also be genetics...Genetics play a huge role in ones body type.
Interesting none the less.Comment

That is a valid point
True
Yeah, it isComment

I remember seeing that interview, and when Toney was like "I have low tetosterone? For real"...He couldn't believe it. Hell, neither could I. Toney is one of the most ****y, **** talking cats you will ever come across.
I know that is not the only thing testosterone is good for, but i would think it would have played a role...
Go figure.Comment
